28 Weeks Later

I'm not a great fan of modern British films - they tend to be crap, unfunny comedies with knobs like Hugh Grant starring in them.... 2002 saw the release of the fantastic 28 Days Later, a movie about a virus outbreak in the UK that causes its victims to turn into a permanent state of 'rage', killing/infecting everyone (very zombieish) totally decimating the population and generally putting the country in the catagory of 'worst place you would like to spend your holiday'.

When I heard about a sequel several months ago, I got all excited. Well, tonight I have just seen '28 Weeks Later' and boy what a film!!!!

I'm not quite sure whether it's better than the original or not, but that doesn't mean it wasn't any good - far from it. One of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time, and it has helped restore my faith in the British film industry.

I'm not going to reveal too much of what happens - this post is more of a recommendation, but some of the highlights have to be Napalming London, The helicopter 'chopping' scene, and of course the fantastic ending, certainly an indication that there might be a '28 Months Later' or something along those lines in the near future.

Go and see it!

Noisy Pillars.... The Remix

Finally, it's here.... The follow up to last years Commodore music video "Not Another Comic Bakery Remix"... Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you my remix of -

Noisy Pillars

This song is based on a fantastic song written by Jeroen Tel of Maniacs of Noise sometime in the late 80's. Hope to get a better quality version uploaded onto YouTube within the next couple of days....

Enjoy!... Oh, and you'll need a pretty good, fast internet connection for the streaming video

"Its the end of the world as we know it..."

Well, not exactly....

Just been messing around in 3D, trying to put together a short little CGI movie showing the end of the world. Here's a still-image from the movie - expect to see the full scene soon.

Job (Part 2)

Well... I had my job interview for the Network Managers post this morning at 9.20, and after being interviewed by the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster, Assistant Headmaster, Director of ICT and Assistant Director of ICT (phew), I am happy to say...

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!

The competition was fierce (well, I was the only candidate), and as one of them apparently said during their deliberation.............

"I liked the first one"!!

Just got to find a new Network Technician now to replace me.

Jamin in the name of the Lord

YIKES!!! It's been over two weeks since my last post. Sorry about that guys - I make no excuses - the truth is I've been lazy, and just haven't been bothered to add anything here.

Anyway, I promise to make up for the lack of posts recently, beginning with this one - something that I found funny anyway

There is a printer at work that constantly seems to get paper jams - I've cleaned it, replaced practically every part, but it continues to jam. Anyway, after receiving a phonecall yesterday morning to pop down to the classroom where the printer is located to 'unjam' it, I find this stuck to case of the printer :-

A picture of Bob Marley and the words "JAMIN IN THE NAME OF THE LORD"

I must admit, I was a bit slow and didn't get it at first, but thats the kind of humour I have to put up with from the teachers and staff at Evesham High :)

Well.. It made me laugh anyway

Speaking of Evesham High, it looks like I will be getting my 'informal' interview for Network Manager at the school very shortly as the Headmaster mentioned to me that he wants that done before the May half-term holiday. YIPPEEE. Speaking to some people at the school, it looks like the job is 100% mine.

Well, not much has really happened over the past 2 weeks since my last post. Oh, our television has packed up, so that has gone in for repairs. Actually, I'm hoping the guy won't be able to fix it as I've got my eye on a nice 42" LCD television. We are having to put up with some cheapo Hitachi 32" CRT which is crap as a backup but it does keep Kieran happy so that he can watch his Thomas The Tank Engine and Bob The Builder DVD's.

The weather has been glorious these past few days, so I have been enjoying the countryside that Evesham offers by going for some nice long walks. I've taken loads of nice scenic photos and panoramas too - expect to see some of them on my Panoramic website soon.

Catch you all soon :)
